How Jesus Can Change Your World

Reflecting on my life of over six decades, I can see Jesus’ impact in so many ways. He has led me into challenging experiences, not only to help me grow as a man but also to help me see His forgiveness. It’s hard to imagine that I’ve come so far – leaving a life of failure in my teen years and being blessed with so much today.  Change your world!

But this is where God’s beautiful grace becomes so apparent. He continues to overlook my failures and focuses on my destination.

Today, those early failures still haunt my soul causing a deep sense of regret. I also fight temptations to quit and see life from a half-empty perspective. Yet, this is when His involvement in my life becomes most evident.

One example is the growing desire to work with my hands. Although I never had any interest as a young man, my passion has continued to grow over the past two decades. Today, I’m consumed with building and creating—everything from building businesses to websites to airplanes.

Come Alive!

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive, and go do that, because what the world needs is people who have come alive.”

Work With Your Hands

Developing mastery in a skill, such as working with one’s hands, can play an important role in a man’s spiritual journey with Christ. This process requires discipline, dedication, and perseverance, all of which are crucial traits for anyone seeking to deepen their relationship with Christ. Engaging in hands-on activities offers an opportunity to connect with God’s creation and cultivate a deeper appreciation for the value of hard work. As a man progresses in his mastery of a particular skill, he can leverage that skill to serve others and glorify Jesus through his work. Additionally, the cognitive benefits of mastering a skill, including improved memory and enhanced cognitive flexibility, can also be instrumental in achieving spiritual growth and comprehending the teachings of God. Overall, developing expertise in a particular skill is a meaningful way for a man to strengthen his faith and contribute to his community in accordance with the teachings of Christ.

70 Years of Experimental Aircraft Building

If you have an interest in aircraft and aviation, Airventure in Oshkosh Wisconsin should be on your bucket list.  Over 750,000 people attend each year!

Building an aircraft requires a wide array of knowledge about engines, electronics, painting, metalwork, welding, and fabric work.  And considering the average build time is 5+ years, the builder must have great skills in perseverance and patience.

Finding Peace and Fulfillment in Your Purpose!

“The satisfactions of manifesting oneself concretely in the world through manual competence have been known to make a man quiet and easy. They seem to relieve him of the felt need to offer chattering interpretations of himself to vindicate his worth. He can simply point: the building stands, the car now runs, the lights are on. Boasting is what a boy does, because he has no real effect in the world. But the tradesman must reckon with the infallible judgment of reality, where one’s failures or shortcomings cannot be interpreted away. His well-founded pride is far from the gratuitous “self-esteem” that educators would impart to students, as though by magic.”
