After completing most of the wing with the 3M Fastbond glue I began thinking about the differences between Fastbond and Stuarts Ekobond. Although I was basically happy with Fastbond; and based on tests that others had performed with the product, I was comfortable that the two products were the same, aside from minor labeling changes. Additionally, via conversations with other builders, the MSDS information on both the products were the same. I did carefully review the documentation and would generally agree with that statement. I had also spent $120.00 on Fastbond and was reluctant to spend another $250 on Ekobond, especially if it is the same product.

However, after much thought, I decided to buy a gallon of Ekobond. To my surprise the color, consistency, tightness of the dried glue, and the ease of application were all different. As a result, I decided to recover all external glue areas with the Ekobond and am very happy that I did. Overall, the glue is tighter and with a complete different feel compared to 3M.
